Child Safety Week 2013 with 10% off Ivor products

Following the enormous success the Scheme had in raising awareness of Child Safety Week last year, it will again be looking to support this initiative in June 2013.

Child Safety Week is a community education campaign, organised by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT), and will this year be running from 24 – 30 June. Through Child Safety Week, CAPT aims to raise awareness of the accidents that seriously injure or kill children and how to prevent them. Every year, thousands of organisations across the UK take part in Child Safety Week, holding hundreds of events and coming up with great ways of getting safety messages across to parents and families in fun, imaginative and engaging ways.

The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘Be a Safety Hero’, designed to teach practitioners and parents about how taking small measures can make a big difference and prevent a child from suffering serious harm. For more information on Child Safety Week 2013, please visit

Similar to last year, the Considerate Constructors Scheme is looking to promote all the excellent work its registered sites and companies carry out in their surrounding communities. The Scheme would therefore like to publish stories and case studies of community events during Child Safety Week on its website, and will be contacting companies afterwards to do so.

child-safety-week-2Not forgetting the industry’s safety hero, Ivor Goodsite will be available to attend any event in the lead up to and during Child Safety Week, armed with an ever expanding range of products. Ivor Goodsite is a costumed character, designed to teach children the importance of construction site safety, and also promote all that is positive about the UK construction industry.

To further acknowledge this campaign, the Scheme will also be offering contractors a 10% discount on both Ivor’s ‘Hunt the Hazard!’ and Promotional Sign, up until the end of the Child Safety Week.
