Ivor Goodsite’s Hoarding Competition 2014 – enter now!

The 2014 Hoarding Competition is now open to entries and promises to be bigger than last year!

Any site or company registered with the Scheme can now enter this year’s Hoarding Competition which provides a great opportunity for sites to engage with their communities and invite local schools and children’s groups to decorate their hoarding, transforming them into works of art.

Last year’s competition was extremely successful, with contractors taking the opportunity to promote site safety to local children while showing them how great it is to work in construction. Comments received from those who took part were phenomenal and everyone relished creating something which the whole community could enjoy.

The fee to enter this year’s Hoarding Competition is £425 (+ VAT) and an entry form must be submitted, and payment received, by the 25th April. All entrants will receive a welcome pack
with instructions and guidance, as well as Ivor Goodsite signage to display around your site to promote your participation.

If you are interested in taking part but are concerned about the entry deadline of the 25th April, please contact the Scheme to discuss.

Once a site or company has entered, contractors should organise an event with a school, youth group or other children’s community club to design and decorate the site’s hoarding based on a chosen theme. Last year, sites chose themes such as ‘safety on site’, ‘safety and energy’ and ‘construction’, as well as themes more specific to their community like how their town may look in the future or the importance of the local environment.

Take plenty of photos of your event as these will need to be submitted to the Scheme, along with a short write up, to be considered by a judging panel who will decide on the winning entries. The closing date for submitting the details of your event is the 13th June and winners will be announced shortly after.

All submitted entries will receive lots of Ivor prizes to give to the children who took part, including medals, certificates and Ivor fun packs. The winning entries will also receive a special trophy and a visit from Ivor himself!

If you would like to discuss entering the competition, or have any queries, please contact the Scheme on 0800 783 1423 or email
