St Philip Evans RC Primary School

23rd March 2005 – 24th March 2005

Industry mascot Ivor Goodsite enjoyed two fun-packed afternoons at St Philip Evans RC Primary School in Llanedeyrn, Cardiff on March 23rd and 24th 2005.

Ivor joined the school children for the afternoon and judged an art competition. The ten winners of the competition will have their artwork displayed on hoardings around the site which is next to the school.

As well as pointing out the potential dangers of entering construction sites Ivor showed that the construction industry is both a varied and exciting industry to work in.

Nick Hampshire, Property Development Director, on behalf of Cardiff Community Housing Association said:

“We are extremely pleased to be extending our schools project to St Philip Evans RC Primary School. This is our sixth scheme of this type in Cardiff and we are delighted to have Ivor Goodsite to help the children learn about the project and about construction. The project aims to increase awareness of the dangers of playing on construction sites but also attempts to create an interest in construction, the children’s environment and their community, by making it part of the curriculum. The children will visit the site through the various stages of development and will hopefully be involved in aspects of the project.”
