Bancon Construction and Ivor Goodsite take Leys Primary School on a tour of Site Safety!
Health & Safety is Bancon Constructions and Ivor Goodsite’s highest priority, not only on site but in the surrounding community. Bancon’s Project Manager, Scott Clark began the day with Ivor’s Site Safety Presentation to the google-eyed primary and nursery children at Milton of Leys Primary School to teach them all about the dangers of construction sites.
Following on from the presentation, the children were tasked to design a safety poster. There was a fantastic response from the school kids, all eager to showcase not only their artistic talents but everything that had learned from Ivor’s presentation. Scott along with the Head Teacher and our client chose a winner from each class, who were taken on a site tour that included a surprise visit from Ivor Goodsite. The children were delighted to meet Ivor who was greeted with lots of high fives before receiving their very own fun pack and advent calendar!
The winning posters are now displayed to the local community and residents on Bancon’s site hoarding. Whilst on the site visit the lucky children dressed up in PPE, for a tour that included a talk about site safety, a demonstration of various types of machinery by some of our Contractors and a talk from our client on the importance of the housing development currently under construction for their tenants.
The overall competition winner was chosen by Scott Clark after impressing with the message on her poster. Bancon are hopeful of using this in their signage livery going forward. Bancon are keen to develop a partnership with the school and will continue their work with them in other curriculum activities.
A huge thank you must go to Bancon Construction’s Project Manager, Scott Clark for organising a wonderful event for the children, Ivor had a brilliant time.
