Health & Safety Presentation – Turlin Moor Community School – Poole

Turlin Moor Community School – Poole

1st December 2009

Ivor Goodsite visited a school in Poole to give the message to children: Think Safe – Be Safe.

The visit was organised with staff at Turlin Moor Community School in Poole, together with Poole Housing Partnership and contractors Signpost Services.

Charlie Way, Electrical Contracts Manager for Signpost Services advised children on several aspects of electrical safety, including how to be safe at Christmas by ensuring that Christmas tree lights are not left on and sockets overloaded. The children were also able to see (and hear!) the difference between smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Sue Westcott, Headteacher at Turlin Moor Community School said:

“This was a great opportunity to work with Signpost Services, who are carrying out electrical works on several houses in our community to speak to children in a fun way about electrical safety.”

Charlie Way added:

“We wanted to teach children about electrical safety and Ivor Goodsite provided a fun way of achieving this. We hope that the children enjoyed our visit and also learnt that if they Think Safe – They’ll be safe.”
