Health and Safety with Wates

Middleton Primary School, Milton Keynes

11th June 2012

Ivor Goodsite went along with Wates Construction Ltd to the Middleton Primary School in Milton Keynes, to help them make primary school children aware of the dangers of construction sites. Wates are near to starting work on a new extension and ground works including new MUGA pitch and courts area so they wanted to let children know of what they can expect to see over the coming months.

An assembly of around 430 children enjoyed a health and safety presentation, and Ivor then visited each class for a question and answers session.

Wates will be engaging with the children now on quite a regular basis to give updates about their progress on site, and arranging tours when it’s safe to do so. They have also set the children some exciting challenges, like guessing how many bricks will be used in the new building.
