Poster judging presentation, Stockton-on-Tees

Hartburn Primary School, Stockton-on-Tees

11 October 2010

Pupils at Hartburn Primary School in Stockton-on-Tees recently received a surprise visit from Ivor Goodsite. Main contractor ISG has successfully completed a fast-track £450K project to extend and enhance facilities at the school and as part of its education programme to highlight the dangers of construction sites, pupils were invited to design a colourful poster with a strong safety message.

Ivor was on hand to help ISG hand out prizes to the winners of its poster design competition, with Ellie Dales, William Ross and Edie Purchase fighting off stiff competition from their classmates to scoop top honours. The winners received a framed copy of their entry and a gift voucher and each of these posters will now be used nationally across ISG sites to help warn members of the public about the dangers of construction sites.

Mick Quealy, ISG’s health & safety advisor, explained: “It is never too early to learn about the dangers associated with construction sites, and as a business we are passionate about communicating this important message as widely as possible. The pupils are Hartburn Primary School came up with some really eye catching poster designs and we hope that this creative process has helped focus attention on the important message that it is never safe to play on construction sites.”
