Poster competition presentation – St Matthais school

St Matthais school – Malvern

15th December 2009

The pupils of St Matthais school in Malvern have been treated twice to an Ivor Goodsite visit. First time around, a presentation was given by John Todd & George Lamplough of Interserve on the dangers of playing on a building site and the reasons we wear PPE, with the pupils taking an active part in the presentation.

The second time, Ivor returned to the school to hand out prizes for the winner and runners up in the safety poster competition. The competition was judged in partnership by the client, NHS Worcestershire and Interserve project management, and the winning entries will be displayed on the hoardings next year.

The standard of entries was high and, with the vast number involved, it was difficult to select an overall winner, so five runners up prizes of gift tokens and a main prize of a Nintendo DS were presented.

Useful resources

As part of your visit you may want to access or download resources to support you, including a school presentation or Child Protection Guidance template.

Costume hire

Industry mascots Ivor and Honor Goodsite can be hired to attend construction-related events to engage with children and encourage safety on site. Find out more about how you can hire the costume characters and promote a positive image of the industry.
