Safetys a must at Hamble primary!
23 November 2015
Lisa Hill, Assistant Site Manager and Sherri Masson, Health & Safety Advisor for the UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, McCarthy and Stone, recently visited local school, Hamble Primary, to give a talk on the importance of construction site safety. The visit was organised following the announcement of McCarthy and Stone’s new Hamble development, Folland Court, which is currently under construction just down the road from the school on Hamble Lane.
The McCarthy and Stone team were accompanied by construction safety advocate, Ivor Goodsite, to put on an assembly for the children to highlight the importance of safety when working on a construction site. The children also took part in lots of fun and educational activities, showing their creative side by designing safety posters that will be entered into a competition to be displayed on the outside of the development.
Nicky Rickman, Head teacher at Hamble Primary School, commented:
“We all had a fantastic day with the McCarthy and Stone team and the children especially enjoyed meeting Ivor Goodsite! It’s important for us to teach our children about health and safety as early as possible, as well as introducing life and working skills to help with their future prospects. We’re really grateful to the team for taking the time out to speak to the children and I know we’re all very much looking forward to seeing the new site once it’s complete!”
Kim Caldwell, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone Southern, commented:
“At McCarthy and Stone, we are committed to not only building homes in which people aspire to live, but inclusive, engaged communities that people are proud to be a part of. Attending school assemblies like this is particularly important to us and it was wonderful to be able to visit the children from Hamble Primary School and enjoy an informative and fun day – I hope that the children had as much fun as the team did!”
