Skanska Help promote Road safety

Cambridge

18th June 2015

Pupils at a school in Cambridgeshire have received a lesson on the importance of safety around road works. Volunteers from Skanska attended an assembly at Oakington Primary School to test the children’s knowledge around road safety.

Accompanied by Ivor Goodsite, the construction industry’s safety mascot, Skanska described their work in the area, the role of different machinery on construction sites, and asked the children to identify potential hazards in a series of pictures.

Following the presentation, each pupil was challenged to design their own road sign as part of a competition and for taking part in the competition they were given a high visibility reflector.
