Ysgol Y Bont have a special guest

Ysgol Y Bont, Isle of Anglesey

9th November 2012

The children of Ysgol Y Bont received a visit from a special visitor, Ivor Goodsite courtesy of the main contractor Wynne Construction who is currently building the new school Ysgol Y Bont in Llangefni.

The children were given a short presentation by Wynne Construction’s Health and Safety Manager, Glyn Hughes about health and safety on building sites and then introduced to Ivor Goodsite. Along with the visit, the children also had the opportunity to take part in a “Design a Poster Competition” with the winning designs being displayed in the Wynne Construction Liaison Suite office on site.

Wynne Construction has been appointed by Anglesey County Council to build the new Ysgol y Bont Special Education Needs School. The £8.5m project will see the relocation of the existing co-educational special school from its current site located on the Bryn Cefni Industrial Estate to the Ysgol Gyfun High School campus in Llangefni.

Ysgol y Bont is a co-educational day special school, specialising in the care and education of students between the ages of 3 and 19 years. The new two storey, eco-friendly school will provide modern learning facilities including new classrooms, multi-purpose hall, hydrotheraphy pool and sensory rooms. The project also includes a number of highway access improvements benefitting both Plas Arthur Leisure Centre and Ysgol Gyfun.
